Services
Making disability services easier to understand is at the center of my work, from figuring out what is happening to deciding what comes next.
Through Beyond The Box Advocacy, my work with individuals, families, and organizations includes advocacy, analysis, research, and consultation.
How I Can Help
Individual and Family Advocacy
For people with disabilities and their families, I provide support with understanding service systems, preparing for meetings, organizing requests, communicating with agencies, and planning next steps. The goal is to make complicated systems clearer and strengthen each person’s ability to advocate for what they need.
Disability Systems Consultation
For organizations, consultation focuses on how disability policies and programs work in practice. Consultation can include:
- Reviewing policies and processes
- Identifying recurring barriers
- Examining continuity and access
- Bringing lived experience into systems decisions
Policy Analysis and Research
Complex disability policy questions become clearer and more usable through my research and analysis. Areas I focus on include:
- Disability support service portability
- Continuity of services
- Long-term services and supports
- Geographic mobility
- How system design shapes everyday opportunity
Strategy and Research Advising
Projects often come to me for disability policy context, research direction, systems thinking, or help connecting individual experiences to larger policy questions. This work can support research projects, advocacy efforts, organizational planning, public education, and early-stage policy ideas.
How I Work
My approach starts with the gap between how a policy is written and how it works in someone’s life. Patterns across rules, agencies, eligibility requirements, timelines, and transitions often reveal where the real problem sits. From there, I help turn those patterns into clearer language, stronger questions, and practical next steps.
My work is informed by disability policy research, professional experience, direct advocacy, and my own experience navigating disability systems. The scope of each project depends on the question, the people involved, and the type of support needed.
Services and Pricing
Start with the option that sounds closest to what you need. Reduced rates are available without income documentation. Larger projects are quoted separately.
Pricing within a range depends on preparation, scope, and client type. Larger institutions and commercial clients are generally quoted toward the higher end.
Flexible pricing may be available for disability-led organizations, nonprofits, and community projects.
Looking for a Speaker?
Speaking is also available for conferences, universities, disability organizations, healthcare and social service audiences, professional associations, podcasts, and other groups. My talks focus on disability policy, support portability, systems change, representation, and the ideas behind The Quiet Parts of Disability.
